Music & Friends.... an annual festival that captures and compliments the spirit of Northwest British Columbia.
Over the years the natural beauty of the festival backdrop has captivated thousands of regional and international visitors. Combined with the impressive range of music, concert-goers continue to return for more.
Music & Friends began as an intimate evening of entertainment by regional artists. Originally hosted at the recreation centre in Kitamaat Village the festival has expanded over the years to what it is today -- a two-day extravaganza of music, friendship, and family entertainment.
The Music & Friends stage is world class and has hosted musical acts from all over Canada and the United States. Its unique catwalk design allows the audience to become apart of the performance. Coupled with professional sound quality the Music & Friends experience is one to be remembered. The sights and sounds of the festival are complimented by the regional flair that the various vendors provide. Offering a wide range of ethnic goodies, the scrumptious offerings of the numerous food merchants feed the senses. Festival goers can also shop for one of a kind crafts and handmade souveneirs courtesy of the local sellers.
Organized by the North Pacific Music Festival Society, the Music & Friends festival was incorporated in 2005. We work hard to promote and aid the develop of music, arts and drama in youth of the pacific northwest and through various fundraising activities, including the Music & Friends festival, the society assists disadvantaged youth with the purchase of musical instruments and musical lessons. We are extremely grateful for the many corporate sponsors who have played a significant role in the growth of both Music & Friends and the reach of the North Pacific Music Festival Society.
Music & Friends lives up to its namesake every year as it continues to unite not only the host community, but the entire region. In promoting community spirit through music, cross-cultural interaction becomes as harmonious as the melodies soaring over the breath taking landscape.
